At the community/institutional level, we lobby and engage organizations and institutions to tailor their products, services and commitment to the needs of senior citizens.
MICRO LEVEL
At the individual level, we empower senior citizens to enjoy a good quality of life in areas including health, economic well-being and socio-political engagement.
Who We Are
The Association of Ghana’s Elders (AGE) is a unique organization founded with the aim of addressing the concerns of senior citizens, advancing and promoting their interests through diverse innovations. We aim to rally senior citizens as a powerful bloc of stakeholders across multiple platforms on which they can engage productively for self, community and nation.

This year, the Association of Ghana’s Elders (AGE) means business! We are rallying others to collaborate and we are committed to doing more for seniors.
Partner with us to support us financially or materially, offer platforms for us to share our work, let’s work on research together, point us to other resources for learning, funding etc. We’re open to them all.

National Seniors Day Forum 2026
Warm greetings from the Association of Ghana’s Elders (AGE).
We are pleased to invite you to the National Seniors Day Forum, a special gathering dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and engaging older persons across Ghana. This year’s event is organised in partnership with the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat and the Aleva Center.
The forum will explore the role of seniors in Ghana’s emerging 24-hour economy, highlighting opportunities for active participation in entrepreneurship, service delivery, and other productive sectors.
We particularly encourage seniors who are actively engaged in business or community service to participate. A limited number of complimentary exhibition spaces are available for seniors to showcase their products and services.

NORVI Program
Bridging Generations with Heart — AGE proudly presents Norvi, a friendship-driven initiative uniting youth and elders to build a more compassionate, inclusive society.
AGE Circles
Our AGE CIRCLES is a network of senior citizens (12 per Circle) living in specific neighbourhoods who will meet at their preferred times to engage with others.
The content/focus of each Circle will depend on the members – they may choose to read a book that they have selected, play games, watch a movie, go on field trips etc.
The sAGE pAGE Newsletter
The aim of this project is to create a web-based platform, specifically designed for senior citizens, where they can access and engage with the latest news, resources, and content tailored to their interests and needs.
Wellness-on-Wheels (WoW) Vans
To deliver mobile health, wellness, and community support services directly to senior citizens, enhancing their quality of life by bringing accessible care and engagement opportunities to their communities, especially in rural and urban areas with limited access.
Insurance cover for Senior Citizens
In Ghana, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) requires pensioners to complete annual biometric verification via the SSNIT self-service portal, mobile app, or USSD code.

I was privileged to be invited by AGE to participate in the Accra International Marathon (AIM) organized in 2018. Participating in this has helped senior citizens to be very active. AGE has also brought a lot of enlightenment to OPSROGBA. As a result of the social interactions with AGE one of our members has started snail farming which is progressing well. I am also in serious backyard vegetable garden and honey production and marketing. There is enough awareness creation and sensitization of members to engage in things they can do to reduce loneliness.
